We get to know our member in a quick-fire Q&A.

Tell us a bit about your background.

Before joining +MORE, I worked for top tier listed companies in an upper management/leadership capacity, providing them with best-in-class commercial support to grow their top line and bottom line through my unique approach to tackling, then solving problems.

My commercial acumen and attention to detail has led global brands to listing on the New York Stock Exchange, all the way through to New Zealand small to medium businesses coming out of trouble and into success. I am motivated to create tangible value for clients through my immersive approach.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Otago. I am also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).

Why did this business start?

+MORE Bay of Plenty started to be able to take all the learning from large corporations and apply them to local businesses to create wealth, whether that be time wealth or financial wealth, for people who we will be able to visibly see the impact of that change.

Tell us about the business: What services do you offer? How can you help our business community?

+MORE is a business advisory and accountancy firm whose core purpose is to create successful business owners. We understand finding solid business advice can be challenging. There is a shortage of strong advisory services in the New Zealand market, and this can create confusion and low-quality outcomes which can be costly to business owners.

The +MORE team truly cares about your success, and we understand that success looks different to everyone. Whether it is spending more time with your family, growing your business, or achieving financial freedom, whatever success looks like to you, we listen and work with you to help you reach your business goals.

We combine our technical expertise and practical know-how to create solutions for our clients. +MORE believe every small and medium New Zealand business deserves access to practical business advice, and we are passionate about creating a community where every business owner feels supported through our advisory and accountancy expertise.

+MORE guide business owners through planning, forecasting, and coaching with a suite of tools and strong partner connections to help you grow your capability.

What makes your business unique?

The depth of our advice, strength of our networks, the breadth of our community of like-minded professionals, and commercially rounded team members are what make us different. A lot of our team are business owners too.

What’s the one misconception people might have about your industry?

There is always the perception that accountants are all ‘bean counters’ however, like other industries, there are varying levels of offerings and skillsets.

When building a house, you get quotes from multiple builders before choosing who to go with; you want to know their qualifications, see their portfolio of previous builds and any client testimonials. It is good practice to do this for all professional services too. Find an accountant that you have rapport with, has the qualifications and experience to achieve the results you want and, most importantly, has people of similar values to you advocating for them.

What’s the one thing you want people to know about your business?

+MORE’s core purpose is to create successful business owners and our business advice is fuelled by technical capability and practical commercial experience.

What are your professional goals for the next six to 12 months?

To drive change in our clients’ businesses to allow them to have more financial freedom, time freedom and mind freedom

When you’re not at work, how do you like to spend your time?

As a Mount Maunganui local, I love the beach lifestyle and the sense of community that comes with living in the area. Outside of work, you’ll find me enjoying the beach with my daughter, throwing on the water skis, or relaxing with good food and wine in hand.

Anything else you’d like to add?

If you’re an ambitious business owner and need an advisor that can coach you to success and help you reach your goals, our +MORE team would love to hear from you.

Our member profiles are a great way to give the business community a taste of who you are and what you do, so when they see your face at one of our events they won’t hesitate to make that all-important introduction.
