Privacy Statement

How we use this website

Tauranga Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to preserving your privacy. We endeavour to be transparent, and this privacy statement explains how we gather, store, use and disseminate any personal information we collect from you.

Chamber of Commerce Tauranga Region Inc (trading as Tauranga Chamber of Commerce) uses this website to record your information in the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce database so we can efficiently deliver our services to you.

This includes membership details, event bookings, surveys and newsletter sign ups. The information you provide us through these channels will only ever be used by the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce and, in limited instances, passed on to our alliance partners (see “Special Relationships”).

Cookies on our website

Cookies are small text files that are placed in your browser by the websites you visit. They are widely used to help users navigate websites efficiently, to perform certain functions on the sites, and/or to provide site owners with information about how their sites are used.

We use cookies on our site where they are required for particular features to work – for example, if you are logged into your member profile, to allow you to remain logged in while you complete certain tasks.

We also use tracking cookies with Google Analytics to analyse non-identifiable web traffic data to improve our services. This data is aggregated and cannot personally identify you.

You can opt-out of having your site activity available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (gtag.js, analytics.js) that is running on websites from sharing information with Google Analytics about visit activity.

Using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on will not prevent site owners from using other tools to measure site analytics. It does not prevent data from being sent to the website itself or in other ways to web analytics services.

Security

Tauranga Chamber of Commerce stores little personal information in its physical office site. Any private information held by third parties is regularly assessed by us to ensure that appropriate data protection mitigations are in place to protect against loss, misuse and alteration of your private information.

What kind of information will we collect from you?

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce will only collect your information where it is lawful, fair and necessary for the function of our business. This includes, but is not limited to, membership applications, event bookings, newsletter sign ups, surveys and payments.

Should you wish to receive information regarding the information we hold about you, please contact us at chamber@tauranga.org.nz
