Matt-Watts- Jennian Homes

Jennian Homes has been building homes for around New Zealand for 35 years – and here in the Bay, Matt Watts is the man who will be helping continue that legacy.

The New Home Consultant has recently made the move over the hill from the Waikato, where he previously worked for a large building company for seven years, before taking on this role with Jennian.

“For us the move was family related,” he says. “We had been in the Waikato for more than 20 years and knew we wanted to live beside the beach. It was all about timing – once our two boys left home to go to University we knew it was time. It’s been a good move.”

He joins fellow New Home Consultant Paul Belcaster, as well as Directors Stephen Barclay and Jon Galvin, to form the Jennian Homes Tauranga team.

He says joining forces with a smaller business allows for the experience with the client to be more personal, and it is “more rewarding going through that journey with them”.

“Big building companies can feel like a bit of a house factory. I like being with clients, so moving to a business where you are more involved and everyone gets to work with them and meet them, the end result is a lot more rewarding.”

Jennian Homes offer great ready-to-build plans (which can be modified), as well as design and build options to cater to all budgets. With fixed price building contracts, guarantee completion times and a 36-month remedial guarantee on every build (instead of the usual 12), the team have the skills and support to ensure your new home is nothing but perfect.

We caught up with Matt at the new Jennian show home in Papamoa to get a tour, discuss the market situation as it stands and find out about the new Studio J, their office-slash-design studio currently being built on 15th Avenue.
