Kia ora! We are your local electricity generator and we have come a long way since our beginnings as the Tauranga Electric Power Board with Tauranga’s first power station in 1915.
Today we generate more than 99% of our power through renewable sources at 19 hydro-electric power schemes across New Zealand which provide 8% of New Zealand’s hydro capacity and approximately 5% of the country’s total electricity generation.
We’ve grown to around 235,000 customers across New Zealand and added broadband, home phone, gas and recently mobile to the services we offer. We’re proud to be a New Zealand company that continues to grow and provide our customers with simplified service solutions.
Trustpower has more than 800 full time employees doing the mahi throughout New Zealand.
- Power: We supply electricity to approximately 270,000 customers nationwide.
- Generation: In New Zealand, Trustpower owns and operates 36 stations across 19 schemes.
- Phone and Internet: We have approximately 91,000 telecommunications customer connections.
- Irrigation: Our partnerships with Barrhill Chertsey Irrigation and Central Plains Water, will supply up to 50 million cubic metres of water with the potential to irrigate 40,000 hectares.
