Meet the Team
Stan Gregec – Chief Executive
Stan Gregec is the CEO and leads the 12 strong Chamber team. He reports to the Board.
Stan is the public voice and face of the Chamber in the media and for most advocacy activities. He is also the main sponsor liaison. He attends and contributes to many networking events, and enjoys learning about members’ businesses and identifying opportunities where the Chamber can assist. He also provides direct support to local businesses by assisting in the role of Smart Economy Business Advisor.
Business growth and confidence are critical to the Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty economic future, and Stan is passionate about growing the Chamber’s contribution in this area.
Laina Andrews – Office Manager
Laina is the Executive Assistant and Office Manager for the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce.
This exciting role encompasses supporting the CEO in his duties and the Chamber Board.
Laina assists all aspects of the Chamber’s Human Resources, IT systems and generally looks after the day to day running of the Chamber to ensure we run smoothly and efficiently.
The scope of the role is significant, with a wide array of tasks.
Jeanette Mindham – Engagement Coordinator
She is also the contact person for the Chamber’s flagship Business After 5 events held on the first Wednesday of every month.

Anne Pankhurst – Engagement Coordinator
Anne is the Chamber’s Engagement Coordinator for LINKT (formerly Rocket! Young Professionals) and for Special Projects including the Westpac Tauranga Business Awards, which are being revamped for 2016.
Anne has an extensive background in events management and advocacy, and has previously represented the Chamber on a number of external committees and networks such as Mainstreet and City Centre Action Group.
Anne is also the prime Chamber contact for the Annual Golf Tournament (held in December).
Kirstin Mead – Innovation Manager
Kirstin is the Innovation Manager at the Chamber in the Business Growth Team.
Kirstin works with business owners to help them grow and succeed through technology. Her focus is on research and development (R&D) and innovation.
The accelerator services she can offer on behalf of Callaghan Innovation include: access to experts, assistance with technology and product development, helping your business become innovation-ready and R&D funding to add scale, depth and return to your R&D investment.
Jason Stockdale – Senior Growth Advisor
Jason is the Senior Business Growth Advisor at the Chamber in the Business Growth Team.
The Business Growth Team delivers a range of business support services to small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) who have the potential to grow in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. The services are funded by central Government through the Regional Business Partnership contract with the Chamber.
Jason assesses businesses to identify their needs for management capability training or coaching in order to support business growth.
In addition, Jason links businesses to relevant local, national and global solutions, resources and information.
Monique Van Aken – Receptionist / Office Administrator
Monique is the Receptionist/Office Administrator at the Chamber of Commerce.
If you have been to visit us at the Smart Business Centre, you will have been welcomed by her friendly face.
Monique looks after a vast range of areas including enquiries, certifying of certificates of origin and free trade agreements, accounts, managing our room hire service and seeing to the day-to-day smooth running of the Smart Business Centre.
Roz Irwin – Business Support Advisor
Roz is the Business Support Advisor in the Chamber’s Business Growth Team, and your first point of contact if you ring our 0800 number (0800 249 482) for business enquiries and assistance.
If you have a business problem or are looking for ways to to grow your business, the Business Growth Team can help you in many ways by directing you to resources, expertise and assistance that are available to all small businesses in the region.
Roz is the person you need to speak to if you would like information on the Regional Business Partners Programme including meeting with a Business Advisor or how to become a service provider. If you’re new to business or new to town she can also arrange a free one-hour consultation for you.
Gayle Hardie – Business Mentor Manager
Gayle is the Business Mentor Manager in the Business Growth Team.
A mentor can provide valuable support and guidance to business owners who are looking to implement a change in their organisation. They can also act as a sounding board or provide a dose of inspiration to help with a particular challenge.
Gayle’s role is to match volunteer Mentors with registered Mentees in the Tauranga region and monitor the programme to ensure it works well for both parties.

Helen Armistead – Documentation Coordinator
Helen is the Export Documentation Coordinator at the Chamber of Commerce
Helen has a background in export documentation and freight forwarding and is your first point of contact for any export documentation queries. Her main duties include the certification of: Certificates of Origin, Free Trade Agreement Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Free Sale and Certificates of Manufacture.
Kate Presland – Accounts Administrator
Kate is the Chamber’s Accounts Administrator.
She manages all aspects of the day to day financials for the Chamber while meeting reporting requirements for our Board and auditors.
