Event Recap: BA5 with Calibre + Candor

Big thanks to Calibre + Candor for hosting our very first BA5 for 2023.

Advertising agency Calibre + Candor hosted our first event for 2023 at the Farmer Autovillage showrooms.

It was a great opportunity to reconnect and network with many of our regular BA5 attendees, and to welcome new members over canapes and drinks provided by Hereford Kitchen.

Calibre + Candor’s Group Business Director, Matt Williams, Client Services Director, Abi Banks, and Head of Digital, Dev Shand shared with us what makes their business different from other advertising agencies.

Calibre + Candor started a decade ago working out of a garage. The founders all left high-profile roles at big advertising agencies and corporations because they felt there was a better way of doing things in the media world.

They’re now big enough to wield negotiating clout with their media partners, but small enough to remain independently owned and operated. (They’re still a little grassroots at heart, because Abi is currently working out of her spare room here in the Bay).

They’ve worked with an array of well-known businesses, brands, and organisations including Panasonic, Hertz, NZX, NZ Red Cross, Big Save Furniture, Fletcher Building, and the Department of Conservation.

Thanks again to everyone who joined us for the first BA5 of the year, and congratulations to Cameron McGall from ANZ who was the major winner of the business card draw on the night – taking home a Panasonic Premium Ultra TV!

Our next BA5 will be held on Wednesday 22 March at The Pilates Fix and Fresh Coaching.

Thanks also to our Principal Sponsors NZME and Farmer Autovillage.
