What We Do

The Tauranga Chamber is the oldest and largest organisation representing business in the region, with over 800 members – and many more who participate in our various activities.  We are also a doorway to other local business networks and groups.

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce is your first port of call for business support, training and networks.  When it comes to business support, we’re like visiting the GP.  If we can’t solve your problem or give you the advice you need, we’ll put you in touch with a specialist – and we may also be able to help you meet some of the costs of upskilling.

Our mission, quite simply, is to make local business easier, better, stronger and more fun.

This translates into 4 key roles around which we focus our activities and support:


In a typical year we run over 100 different events of all kinds and 50-60 training sessions.  These are all great opportunities to extend your business connections and gain new knowledge and skills.

We now also have a lot more that’s tailored to specific member groups, including:

Your Chamber membership entitles you and your colleagues to participate at member rates in any of our activities and member groups, as well as come to our monthly Business After 5 events free of charge.

We also deliver a range of Government assistance programmes for SMEs, namely the Regional Business Partnership for the Bay of Plenty (on behalf of New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, Callaghan Innovation and Business Mentors New Zealand), and offer a Smart Economy Business Advisor service on behalf of the Tauranga City Council.  This assistance is available to all businesses in the region.
